Robert Rutten
Robert leads the RuttenTech team and is focussed on working in partnership with the client to design and build technology based solutions. He has a Bachelor of Business from Curtin University, Western Australia. Robert spent 8 years training farmers in the application of business software to transform their accounting practices. He provided independent advice so that rural clients could make the most of their businesses. Since establishing RuttenTech in Cairns, Robert has worked with a range of clients including not-for-profit organisations. Recently, he supported a community environmental law group to maintain their hardware and source a grant to develop a nationally consistent web presence. In this way, Robert has made sure that the lawyers can focus on winning cases and not re-booting computers. Matt Fenn
Matt is the team's programmer. He makes software and web-based applications using creativity to solve any technical challenge. Matt graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor in Computer Science. He has been working with information technology for 10+ years in industries ranging from defence to tourism. An example of his work was the creation of a web site that automatically loaded individual agent details to a tour product catalogue site. This reduced the loss of custom from the agent to the tour operator, resulting in increased profits to the agents and exposure for the operator. Joyce Mar
Joyce is the latest member of the RuttenTech team. She has recently finished her Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Information Technology at James Cook University. Having worked on a number of programming projects in the past, Joyce brings a fresh approach and new depth to our technical skillset - working predominantly in Search Engine Optimisation and website programming roles. A "born and bred" local to Cairns, Joyce is also enjoys a hobby of photography - participating in several large stock image libraries around the net. Recently finishing a year long programming project for the Red Cross, Joyce's efforts have helped automate their customer systems, saving time and effort in the daily operations of their accommodation centre. Rob Epps
Rob provides specialist support to the team in programming and hardware issues. He is a highly experienced software developer. Rob has been working in the IT industry since 1990. His first project was in the time before Internet when businesses posted out paper price lists to dealers. Rob knew there was a better way and built a program that allowed dealers to electronically search the price list, select items they wanted and print a form for faxing. All this sent out on a floppy disk, making life easier for both the dealers and the suppliers. More recently Rob has been involved in a large project which combines clever hardware and software to obtain music ratings information. An audience of 70 people use personal dials to rate 8 second snippets of music. Rob's program automatically tracks the rating data for each song saving hours of manual data processing that was necessary with the original software. Rob has a keen eye for finding areas in your business that could be more productive through the use of innovative software solutions.
