A scheduled upgrade is planned for our web hosting systems. This is to increase capacity, reliability and security for our customers. An outage is planned for this Friday night 16/06/06 from 9pm – 6am. We are making to improve security and reliability - there is nothing that you need to do to your site or mail systems. We are making all the required upgrades and changes internally, and out of normal business hours to minimise disruption to you. (our clients) In order to make the change, we have to take the current server offline and copy the sites to the new server. To do this, we have a scheduled outage for the web-server this Friday night (16/06/06) from 9pm – 6am (Saturday morning). During this period, your website will appear to be down, and you will receive no mail, however normal services will resume after the scheduled outage.
Please note that all web services including mail, ftp, cpanel, www, etc will be
offline due to the scheduled outage to move client’s sites across. It would be
highly recommended that clients shut down any sites / forums which have dynamic
content which might cause a loss in database sync while we're moving accounts
over. If your site is currently administered directly by the RuttenTech team, don't worry - we have this covered for you! We do not believe the outage will last the full 9 hours to move ~95 domains however have scheduled this to ensure that any issues, which arise, are resolved before Saturday morning. For the technically oriented: Secondary MX / custom DNS changes / client hosted mail servers will be kept intact. Assigned IPs stay the same, there is nothing you need to do however it would be strongly recommended to check your hosted sites on Saturday morning and contact us if you have any problems. IMPORTANT: If you believe this scheduled outage will cause issues due to any reason at all, please contact us and we will look into what we cando to mitigate the interruption to your services.
