ClientJim Turnour was elected to the House of Representatives in November 2007 in the federal division of Leichhardt. Prior to being elected to Parliament, Jim built a career working with farmers and graziers for the Department of Primary Industries and as a consultant in Australia and overseas. We assisted with his pre-election website, and played a role in his campaign assisting with newsletters and information dissemination via the Internet. Since being elected, Jim's website needed a make-over to relect the changes in his role in the community. Service Date2006 (Original Site) , 2008 Project OverviewBeing that Jim had previously used a Joomla CMS website with us, we were able to take advantage of this and base his new content, mailing lists and systems on the old site. This was all in the background, as the public front end of the website was to have a complete change. Other than this, there we also had a few design contrains due to legalities for a sitting member of parliament - taking all these items into consideration, we crafted a new look for Jim's online presence. Functionally, the site takes advantage of image galleries, a newsletter, subsciption modules and various customised modules to display PDF newsletters and quotes. The site is aimed at providing a platform for Jim to disseminate information about his electorate, local issues and provide a resource for constituents to access services on the internet. The site also plays a role in streamlining his administration by distributing information to media via his profile, media kits and reguarly updated media releases.
