ClientGem Photo was founded by photographer Gemma Carr shortly after graduating from Melbourne's RMIT. Since this time Gemma has developed her unique editorial style of shooting that is clean, true-to-life images of subjects allowed to be natural and comfortable. Service Date
2008 Project OverviewGemma needed a new website that would look great - but still work well with Google. Previous sites had left her at the bottom of the heap in terms of search engine results, so we had to make sure that her new site was able to show off her fantastic photos, while still having searchable text for google to index. Of course, as a professional photographer, Gemma is constantly taking new photos - so the site needed to be easy to edit, and to have the capacity to add new images and galleries later as needed. After trying a few styles, we decided to work with a template that features neutral colours with occasional highlights that match her (existing) logo. The neutral colours allow the photos to shine out and tell the story. Searching through many available options for galleries, we ended up using a great gallery add-on, which we modified for her needs. The result: a striking website that allows Gemma's images to take center stage, while adding the technical feature of being search engine friendly.
