ClientSteve Wettenhall is the State Labor Member for Barron River, Queensland, having been elected to Parliament in 2006. Prior to entering Parliament, Steve was a solicitor in his own legal firm in Cairns. As a local member, Steve is always looking for ways to reach and connect with his constituents, and embracing technology such as the Internet is part of his approach to staying in touch and providing a valuable resource to the community. Service Date2008 Project OverviewSteve approached us to help with developing his website with the aim of making the site easy to maintain by his office staff. After extensively reviewing sites by other members, Steve noticed that having current information on a website is one of the keys in both staying relevant online, and adding value to the community as a resource. A Joomla site template was selected, and off to work the RuttenTech team went! Lighter colours and tints keep a fresh and open feel to the site - with the red highlights providing a visual cue to important information. The site is easy to navigate, and designed specifically to be easy to update. With extensive use of "blog" layouts the site also features an online newsletter system, site search and archive system. A short training course capped off the delivery of this website to ensure that Steve and his staff can make the most of their new website.
