Well - 2009 is off and running and so are we! With the first week back in the saddle, our well-rested team are busy coding away on websites for the new year. Thanks to all our clients for making last year our best year ever - we are looking forward to even more websites, coffee and web fun in the year ahead. To give you the heads up, here are some of the things that we have planned for the year ahead...
One of the upcoming changes for the year ahead is the migration of most of our clients Joomla 1.0 websites to the new Joomla v 1.5. We have been working on the new distribution for some months now, and are happy with the code and stability for our client use. This site itself is now running Joomla 1.5! and is working very smoothly :) Migrations will be different for most clients depending on what extra functions are installed on your site, but we will be testing and planning each migration so the process should run smoothly. Our customer management and support portal will be extended in the year ahead. We unveiled the first version of the portal (http://portal.ruttentech.com) late last year, with the shake down period now nearly over we are going to be extending its functions in our business to include an extensive knowledge-base and support section. Our main production server has been upgraded twice last year due to growth - and we expect this to continue. We are already planning for a brand new super-server sometime this year. Once again - the upgrade should have minimal disruption to our clients services - and will provide improved speed, performance and reliability. We will also be upgrading our in-house servers and development systems to include some of the latest test platforms and backup systems. Hmmm... might even get a new machine for Rob to play with :) (Although if we don't get a new toy for Matt soon he will start programming on his pocket calculator in protest!) Best wishes to all for the new year ahead, we are looking forward to getting stuck into it!
Cheers,
